If there's any questions or if I'm being confusing please let me know. If I check I still get an error because the connection timed out. I have Port Forwarding set up on this router to forward port 49152 to the IP 10.0.0.124.

This runs on the 10.0.0.1 subnet and my PC IP address is now 10.0.0.124. Router 2 (WRT54Gv8) is in Repeater mode boosting my ssid signal from Router 1. I have Fiber Optics from what I'm told so it runs through a PPPoE thing to authenticate and it has Port Forwarding set up to forward port 49152 to the IP address: 192.168.1.103. Router 1 (WRT300N) is connected to the main Internet connection. I'm going to run through it again maybe someone will catch my mistake: Sorry, do you have the port forwarding on the router connected directly to the modem or the repeater?Īlright, so I updated the DD-WRT version via the webGUI and now in the top right it says:įirmware: DD-WRT v24-sp2 (01/01/09) micro Looking for bricks and spare routers to expand my collection. (Don't PM about complicated setups otherwise) Read the forum announcements thoroughly! Be cautious if you're inexperienced.Īvailable for paid consulting. See the 2 announcements at the top of the forum for info about svn builds. Since it worked without the repeater in the mix then the repeater is the problem. Is there any way to check intermediately where the port is being blocked? Everything worked fine at that point, but now that I've introduced the repeater port forwarding through the repeater doesn't seem to work. Sorry if this is stupid, but what is an svn build? Which one should I be using?Īnd what would be blocking the port? The router or perhaps a firewall on the PC? I used to use the WRT300N as the main router and connect to that and I had port forwarding set up on it. I really don't know much about networking and everything I've learned was basically from setting up DD-WRT so if I've confused anyone please let me know what questions you have and I'll try to better explain. I checked and it says that the port 49152 is closed on the PC I'm trying to use. From there, I forwarded port 49152 on the DD-WRT configuration page to the IP address 10.0.0.143, which corresponds to the PC. Thus telling it to go to the second router. Now, I forwarded port 49152 in Router 1's configuration page to the IP address 192.168.1.103. The WAN IP that I see in the top right of the configuration page of the DD-WRT page is 192.168.1.103 and I'm assuming this is the IP address assigned to the second router by the first router. So basically, I'm trying to forward port 49152 from the Internet to the PC which is connected to Router 2, which repeats the signal from Router 1. Let me throw in some IP's and ports to explain what I'm trying to do:

All the computers are connected via wireless adapters.

So as to not create confusion, everything is wireless. I have one router connected to the Internet (Linksys WRT300N) using the regular Linksys firmware and one router setup as a repeater (Linksys WRT54Gv8) running DD-WRT v24 Micro.Įverything runs really well and I'm very happy with it, but I've been trying to setup Port Forwarding for the computers that are connected to the Repeater and I haven't been successful.
