THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS Eternal combines the infinite possibilities of a deep strategy card game with the pace and polish of a modern video game.
Where will you stand? Join the battle in Eternal, the new strategy card game of unlimited choices and unbelievable fun. RAISE THE BANNER With spells and swords, six-guns and subterfuge, heroes collide in the struggle for the Eternal Throne. The visual style, card design and general mechanics surrounding the meta-game should be fairly intuitive as well. Just like in games like Hearthstone and MTG, the play is fluid and smooth, and the mechanics are easy to grasp.

The game includes both singleplayer and multiplayer modes, even complete with a full story-driven campaign for each faction. And being that’s it’s a digital card game, it’s designed to be really easy to pick up and learn. Being that card games in the real world are undeniably pay-to-win, given that you need to buy the best in-meta cards to create a competitive deck, people are quick to dismiss digital versions of games in this genre pretty quickly.Įternal, a free-to-play online collectible card video game developed and published by Dire Wolf Digital, sought to break that convention by making a card game that was actually free-to-play without being a huge and soul-destroying grindfest. Yes, the AI will trade off flyers to stop some of your ground.Free-to-play card games have always been kind of loathed by a certain subset of gamers. You've got to at least try and match them on flying while letting your ground units hit when possible. The Valkyrie deck is probably the toughest. The Sentinel/Explorer deck often mills itself out. The Gunslinger deck plays itself out if you're patient and defensive, allowing you to turn the tide.
Lifegain takes care of the Nightfall decks most times. I agree with that, but they're not unbeatable. 3 or 4 cards that do it is enough.Īs I've been reading, the newer AI decks are the hardest ones. You can often win by attrition and milling them out if nothing else. Try and keep the AI with fewer cards in your library than you have. An Overwhelm unit can usually get some of them out of the way If possible, grab a couple of Aegis units.
Stalwart Shield is your best bet due to how many Stun spells the AI uses. TRY and get some removal if at all possible. Get highly defensive ground units when you can't get flyers Argenport, in 2nd, is nowhere near that level of consistency. The thing is, only Hooru is now consistent in winning a lot in Forge. Won 41 in a row yesterday before falling with a terrible pick on my part.Overconfidence will get you every time. Since I've gotten to Masters in Forge, it's gotten.easy. Thankfully the AI is dumb, but they get actual themed and cohesive(ish) decks that will just ruin your day if you didn't draft answers to their threats. It helped considerably if I used small blockers or a wall to hold the line for a few turns while the AI dumps their hand (which they always will) before dropping harsh rule and flooding your own minions. I also managed to pull harsh rule in a couple different decks.

You can score a few free trades this way and usually stabilize out the board. The AI is tuned to always go for efficient trades, even if tells are super obvious. The nightfall deck was a stopping point in a couple of my runs as well.Ībuse the combat tricks is all I can say. Argenport Shootout goes tall so damn quickly that unless you can clear minions efficiently early you're going to get overwhelmed fast. There were some utterly annoying decks this time around. Likely due to my increased skill in the game. I actually got to masters much easier this time around compared to my first time (only been playing a little over a month).
